Black Friday Shipping

          I heared Black Friday Shopping for a long time. It sounded very interesting and i really wanted to experience it.

          In this Thanksgiving night, i went shopping with my friends and finally experienced the crazy shopping night.

          For taking the parking place, we arrived the shopping mall at 9pm. It was cold and rainy outside, but we were not the frist. There were some people already waiting there. "i can't believe it"i talked to my friends. After two hours waiting, the shopping mall opened the door, but the stores inside were still closed. Peopel ran to the store they like and queued outside the store. We were in the line of A&F. It was terrible, because there were about 200 people in that line. When the store was opened at 12am, all of those people crushed into the store. It seemed that it was free for everything, but actually it just was 50% off. It was too crowd to shop, what we could do was grabing some itmes and waiting again in the line of check out. We spent 15 minuts on grabing clothes but 3 hours on checking. That was horrible. All of us were exhausted when we came out from A&F.

       Although it was tired for the Black Friday shopping, it was fun and interesting. I like shopping, so i felt very excited when i saw so many people shoped together. However, i found the deals given by stores was not good enough. It seems that Christmas deals will be better than Black Friday. Let shop at Christmas again!

Halloween experience

    
    Halloween in California is real a big festival. I spent Halloween last year in Oregon, but the atmosphere there was not as good as here.

    Since a month before Halloween, we could see the decoration everywhere. In our campus, people decorated a lot of spider webs, pumpkins, skeletons in the buildings, offices, library, food court, book store. Outside the campus, i could still sense the Halloween atmosphere from decorations in restaurants, coffee shops, shopping malls and the gardens in front of the personal houses.

    There are Halloween events in Universal studio and Nott scare farm, which you can't find in elsewhere. I really wanted to go the events to experience the fear, but i couldn't find the friends who would like to go with me. That's very upset.

   In Halloween day, a lot of students and teachers dressed interesting costumes. The waitress who dressed the dark warrior costume in Starbucks in Food court was so cool!! I liked her mask and wanted to take picture with her. But she was busy at the time... I also saw a old lady who dressed a wizard's costume with a parrot wand. But she walked too fast, i couldn't catch her......

   I like the Halloween in California. Hope i can go to the Halloween event in Universal Studio next year.

 

Bout Reading

     

I liked reading when i was a child. In primary school, reading was my only hobby. I read a lot of novels. Among those stories, 《 Pride and Prejudice》 was my favorite. How beautiful the love story of Darcy and Elizabeth is, and i always dreamed that i was the heroine of the novel and i could have this romantic affection in the future.

 

However, when i grow up, reading is more and more far away from me. I can't remember when i do the last reading and the last book i read. In my mind, reading requires a calm heart and a peaceful environment, but unfortunately i don't have neither.

 

Movie is my favorite entertainment. I'm not the big fan of movie, but when i was in China, i would go to the cinema every week. I like affection film and action movie. But I can't watch the dracula movie and suspense film. The movie that moved me most is 'One Day', which played by Anne Hathaway. It talks about a sad love story. A man and a woman had a deep relationship. They kept contact during more than 10 years. Even though they had boyfriend and girlfriend in this period, they still cared about each other. Finally, when they overcame all obstacles and got together, the women die in a accident. I saw this movie in the plane. I remembered that i couldn't stop crying although i knew it was very embarrassing.

 

Watching movie in America is not very enjoyable in deed. Because there is no subtitle, it's hard to understand the entire story. Sometimes i just guess, and sometimes i will sleep in the cinema (Actually i did it when i watch 'Bat Men 3'.........)

Nevertheless, watching movie is a good way to practice listening and understand idioms.

My dream jobs

     My dream job is always changed with the time gose by. I remembered that when i was in the elementary school, my dream job was to be a policewoman. Because during that period, gangster film was very popular in China. The police was the embodiment of wisdom and justice in my mind. They usually had excellent marksmanship and kongfu, and they were so cool when they caught the criminals.

    In the middle school, i was attracted by a Japense cartoon called The Daughter of the Nile. It talks about a American girl, who is a student of Archaeology, goes back to the ancient Egypt and falls in love with the King. I was passional to be a Archaeologist which was opposed  intensively by my parents.

   When i entered into University, i changed my dream to be a actress. I was in Drama Club in the University at that time and crazy about acting. i once thought about suspending my college study and applied for Beijing Academy of Film which fosters a lot of Chinese superstars. However, i couldn't continue because of the practical issues such as money..... 

   Now i want to be a farm owner. I can plan a large lavender field, many orchards and raise horses, sheep and dogs in my land. i hope i can continue and acheive it this time.

Traveling is my mission

   I believe that everyone has its mission. Some people are scientists who are attribute to the scientific research; some people are national leaders who have responsbility to lead their people to the freedom; some are housewifes who will pay their great efforts to the whole family. But my mission is to visit different places all over the world, to know and understand different people and culture.

   I love traveling. It always refreshes my mind and makes me realize that what I have known and what I have seen are so limited. You can't image that how wonderful it is when people come from different backgrounds and different countries to share a journey together.

   There is a interesting saying ' I'm traveling or on the way to travel.' I have been to nearly 20 countries which cross Africa, Europe, Asia and North America. In my mind, the most romantic country is Span; the most exotic country is Eyjpt; and the most interesting place is Italy.

   I like to go traveling with one or two friends, because we can take care of each other on the way. When we encounter problems, we can figure out them together. In addition, it is convenient to take photoes and have fun in the journey.

   I plan to visit at least one or two countries each year, and my next destination will be the Maxico or Brazil.

About me

    Hi, my name is Ling Wang. I come from China. I will be very happy if you call me Julia.
I have been to America last year for an half-year internship, which encourages me to go to American for further studying. I'm in ALP now. After I finish ALP classes, I would like to apply for MBA programs in CSUF or other universities.
    Actually, before I went to America, I received two offers, one is from Oregon where I did the internship and the other is from CSUF. I struggled about choosing between these two places for a long time. Because Oregon is the place I'm familiar with and I still have a lot of friends there, on the other hand Los Angles is a developed city in the worldwide which is famous for sunshine, beach, hot girls and Hollywood. I have seen a lot of pictures of LA on magzines and TV in my childhood and always dream that one day I can visit there. So I realize that LA should be my best choice.
    However, I feel a little disappointed after I arrive here. The sunshine is too much. I have to use 75+ suncream everyday which is very oily and makes me uncomfortable. Beach in LA is beautiful. I like swimming very much. But when I went to the Hutington beach, I found that the sea is too cold to swim. And also I visied the Hollywood at the first night I arrived in LA. To my surprise, the Hollywood Walk of Fame is not as imposing as I imagined and the theatre is not as romantic as I expected.
    During this one month, I start to get accustomed to the study and life here. I hope that I can make more friends and develop my English significantly in ALP program.
